What's Old Is What's New

Apparently, some folks haven't clued in, at this late date, to the fact religion is (at best) "all about da bling-bling".
Recent rude awakenings to same at Notre Dame University - still under fire for carrying on a tradition of inviting a newly-elected President to deliver commencement - appear to have ruffled more than a few feathers among the younger set in general and the anti-abortion crowd in particular. Welcome to reality ladies & gents...Deal, already! Somewhere in time, one comes face to face with the fact "One, true and ONLY Christian church" is a sales pitch, and nothing more, when those shouting it have no evidence that is not suspect.
Here's another shocker: Tradition is not truth! It is merely something that is done repetitively, because the practitioner is comfortable with it, or, as the last holy roller preacher I ever put up with said, "It's not supposed to make sense, you're just supposed to believe it!!!"
Such is not the nature of truth.
One may find all the truth one needs and then some to live a life which is more than abundant between the covers of the Word of God, if that is genuinely what one is after! Religion isn't about helping people do that, all pretenses to the contrary notwithstanding. It may appear from time to time to represent truth on one point or another, but the usual objectives remain: Bare minimum money, and that only as a means to the end of acquiring power over everyone. The perpetual, funny-mental-ist shit-stirring about abortion illustrates this better than anything else! Authoritarianism is the inevitable end for those who posess no legitimate authority: They cannot make their case with logic or reason, so instead resort to placation, bribery, or outright force (Inquisition, anyone?). As with the rest of the political currents in the adversary's filthy stream, there's agenda nobody mindlessly following along would suspect. There's something off-kilter about an outfit that hires pederasts for clergy, then strays from its jurisdiction to impose on everyone its opinions on abortion...
Maybe they are just upset there won't be so many of them to abuse?

Best line in the who;e thing! unless it's this:
