"Faith" V. Reason.
Don't you just love this great, manufactured issue so popular among the alleged academics of our day? Vox Day has gone to some lengths to systematically dismantle the work of the adversary done through the "new atheists" of our time. Logic suggests these "brights" may not be so after all. Most big-league atheists and religious leadership have something in common: They both disregard the reality that all genuine belief has a foundation based in reason. Point of fact I have fewer issues with atheists than religionists, because at least the majority of atheists are trying to figure out what's right in front of their faces instead of clinging to meaningless Canon Law, dogma, liturgy or some other form without substance that helps them live in denial.
While on the topic of denial, let's talk about what most religion is in denial of, that records God's appeals to man's reasoning mind: We have the Bible today because, after the fall, man lost his spiritual connection with God. God could no longer communicate directly with the reasoning mind of man via an innate spiritual connection, because it was dead. The phone lines were cut by the adversary's trickery. God always had to come into some concrete form (burning bush that was not consumed, the pillar of fire in the camp in the wilderness, &c) in order to communicate with man by getting his attention through the five senses.
The style of writing, formulation and articulation make it clear that the first five books of the Bible were undoubtedly written by the same man, and that was Moses, just as a little probing, questioning and observation usually reveals that most so-called "atheists" don't really reject the idea of God at all, they just worship and serve their lust for drugs or perverted sex instead. Due to the absence of a spiritual connection, there is a natural atheism (1 Corinthians 2:14) but it's usually much more benign and rational than the aforementioned, self-righteous academic variety. Personally speaking, I have yet to meet a self-proclaimed atheist who was not a doper or sodomite, or both. They reject the knowledge of the true God, because they already have idols to worship (Exodus 20:3-6, John 3:17-20). The greatest explanation of the principle this teaching is designed to convey, was given me long ago by an itinerant preacher named William Branham, who stated it this simply: "The Word of God is the thinking man's filter."
God's Word was never written to the willfully ignorant! It was not at all addressed to those possessed of what Herbert Spencer dubbed "contempt prior to examination". He that comes to God must believe 1. that He is, and 2. that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 10:6). To put it rather bluntly, stupid, lazy bastards need not apply! But we live in a culture where the stupid, lazy bastard has been established as an institution; practically an icon unto himself: Politics caters to his every whim, philosophers sing his praises as "the virtuous poor" and lawyers and media idiots of every screed love to wax eloquent (or atleast dream of doing so in court) about the plight of "the common man", lauding to the skies his perpetual "human right" to live at the expense of the diligent. It's an altruistic fantasy indulged by atheists and polytheistic spiritualists who erroneously call themselves Christians alike, and the bill for the debt these fools are running up will be paid by future generations ad infinitum if the issue is not corrected. This is much the reason for living embraced by the unregenerate and degenerate alike, because they don't want to face the solid possibility that financial and spiritual (motivational) bankruptcy might actually be linked as cause and effect (3 John 2).
And this simpering dreck is offered up to us as reason!
I do not choose to be a common man. It is my heritage by the New Birth, the Power of God, and the greatness of His matchless Word, to be uncommon. I've been poor, friends...There's nothing remotely "virtuous" about it!!! For decades, I believed these lies, and manifested the defeat they bring to pass, until I encountered reason for living:
"Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and Thy Word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, o Lord God of hosts."
- Jeremiah 15:16
This is the testimony of a man whose hearts' need was met. The great Ayn Rand defined the worst thing in the world as "a man without a purpose". This man had diligently sought and found his purpose; his reason for living.
"Thy testimonies also are my delight, and my counselors."
- Psalm 119:24
The Word of God is mentioned in every verse of Psalm 119, and here we gain a major point of learning in gaining higher spiritual truths: God's Word has to be your delight in order to be your counselor.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
- John 1:1
You cannot separate Jesus Christ from the Word of God. When you read it, you're basically reading the mind of the Lord Jesus Christ, because the Word takes the place of the physically-absent Christ!
We're going to be examining in future posts the greater aspects of God's Word as it pertains to life with a view toward the greatest work any man or woman who wants to stand for God can do: Rightly dividing the Word of Truth, so as to have reason for living and manifesting a life which is more than abundant.
