The New Life

When I was young, there was a gospel singer by the name of Sandi Patti who released an album called Morning Like This, and the title cut was about the resurrection. Because God made this same Jesus Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36) in such fashion, we as Believers have the Power to walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4)!

"Concerning his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;
And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead."
- Romans 1:3&4

Thus Christ Jesus was marked out as God's only-begotten Son, the only man raised from the dead and still alive today at the right hand of the Father. You do not have victory over sin and death in the crucifixion alone, as many have claimed, but in that God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. If Christianity had a legitimate symbol, it would be the empty tomb, not the cross, but beyond this...REAL Christianity is not a religion at all, but the relationship between The Father-Creator and His Children.
The one who came out of the tomb was not the man beaten and tortured beyond all recognition that had been put there three days previous, but the new man in a new body! Likewise God has raised you and I through the new birth (Romans 10:9&10) to live a new life of victory.

"That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness."
- Ephesians 4:22-24

God has supplied us with all the Power and enablement we need through the accomplished work of Jesus Christ - the new birth made available - and the Truth of His Word. Now it's time to do our part and utilize these resources to learn how to walk in God's Power by the Spirit. We learn this by studying God's Word, learning the Truth, and acting on what we've learned...This is known as renewing your mind, and it's absolutely key to manifesting God's Power!

"I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect will of God."
- Romans 12:1&2

God has given us everything we need to walk in this new life, but what good is it to have a million dollars in the bank if you never spend any of it, and are still living in a cardboard box, or under a bridge, wearing rags? That's kind of an overstatement, but it describes plenty of "Christians" who go through the motions every week, with no idea of what they genuinely have...And thanks to the denominational religious world, precious little chance of finding out! God's heart of love for us, is that we tap the resources we've been given (Ephesians 6:10-17), use the Power he's provided to help ourselves grow strong, so that in turn we can help others walk in Power too.

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to Himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given unto us the ministry of reconciliation;"
- 2 Corinthians 5:17&18

It doesn't matter to God where you've been, only where you are going. If you take the phrase "all things" and trace its occurrences through The Word, you find out it's almost uniformly referring to the Word of God spoken to those of that time, or "the present truth" (2 Peter 1:12), basically saying in the context here that all the benefits God has promised in His Word - all the resources - are available to you and me today: They didn't die with the apostles, or end with the last pen-scratching of the last word in the Book of Revelation. God was at work to reconcile man unto Himself long before the Word started to be committed to written record, and His Word will be in force beyond the end of time (Isaiah 40:8, Matthew 24:35, Mark 13:31, Luke 21:33). The same Word of God that framed the heavens and earth (Genesis 1:1-3, John 1:1) that delivered men from their destructions (Psalm 107:20) and that is the only honest crucible and true oracle by which God's Will can be certainly known (Psalm 119, Ecclesiastes 12:12&13, Jeremiah 9:23&24) is available to us today to live real life and that more abundant, to walk in newness of life and make God's Will manifest in the senses world by bringing deliverance, healing and victory to others - that's the ministry of reconciliation!

"For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him."
- 2 Corinthians 5:21

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love...Of a sound mind too, as we renew our minds to manifest more on the outside what we have obtained through Christ on the inside!
