Today, while everybody else is out in fancy clothes, paying their fire insurance and not caring anymore to know God than a deep sea jellyfish cares to know a bald eagle, YOU can understand the great truths of His Word that have been ignored and doubted, literally for millennia.
0. BELIEVING CONFIDENCE - Hebrews 11:6, Romans 10:10, Hebrews 4:2.
Before the Bible can do any good at all, the reader must be determined beyond any bit of doubt or discouraging influence to know and believe the great truths and mysteries contained therein, and decide to seek and retain them on a daily basis. It must be a quest being undertaken for individual betterment before one can possibly hope to move forward to benefiting anyone else. The vast majority of Christendom is engaged in the futile process of looking for verses to make excuses for unbelief, rather than searching for answers and a better Way than what they already have, and this is why religion is such an utter failure.
1. ADMINISTRATIONS - Romans 15:4
An administration is a period of time governed by certain policies and spiritual truths. The same introductory principle set forth in the Paradise Administration - the time when the first man and woman tended the garden of Eden - From the Creation to the Fall of Man, Genesis 1:1-3:6 - does not at all apply to the Law Administration - from Moses until Christ - Exodus 20:1-Matthew 1:1. Each administration lays the foundation for the next, but the revealed Word to previous administrations must be understood in light of the Word addressed to Believers today ("the present truth" 2 Peter 1:12).
2. UNDERSTAND DIFFICULT VERSES IN LIGHT OF CLEAR - 2 Timothy 2:15.
This cannot be stressed enough. The part of the denominational religious world that calls itself "Christian" bases most of its doctrine on bits and pieces of the difficult verses, or Word not written to this administration, or both...Why not, it's easier to accommodate spiritualism that way/never change your old-man thinking patterns (Romans 12:1, 2)!
3. APPLICATION - LET ALONE INTERPRETATION - is ALWAYS with respect to whom addressed Hebrews 1:1,2.
For example, it would be inappropriate - to say nothing of inconvenient - for us as Believers to sacrifice bulls and sheep...Even most of modern Jewry acknowledges this as logical, in practice if not doctrine! On the downside, those who say homosexuals should be killed ignore the fact a lot of things in the Law Administration were punishable by death, including wearing a garment made from two different kinds of thread...We already have too much war and killing over nonsense today, moreover I'm willing to wager "Love thy neighbor as thyself" probably doesn't mean "kill them"!
Long ago I learned, if you want to be disgusted look around. If you want to be discouraged look at yourself. If you want to be delivered look to the Word, and the answers and truth you are seeking will come to you (Psalm 107:20).
