Yes, Please "Pitch In"...

Perfectly good things I found just this month in the trash:

Table cloth (it needed washing).
A brand new gas can.
$60 in cash!
Office supplies galore.

Galt-in-Da-Box has quite often come across:

Coffee pots
Slow cookers
Food in unopened packages
Jewelry

There's gold in them thar dumpsters, and I'm off to pan for more of it!

Yesterday, The Old Sarge found a perfectly good piece of Masonite that was just right for a project he's working on. 2'x 3', just the right size.

$60? Man, I've found a lot of good things but never cash. I've found some TVs that were junk but I've also found some that work fine.

I found a perfectly good metal water cooler, I don't know if they even make them anymore.

Some people maybe too prideful to look in the trash, not me!

The only thing you will find in my trash is ground-up bills and receipts.

(and a sack full of used cat litter.)

It's unbelievable the stuff that gets thrown out! I should have acted on my impulse at 4-years old & grown up to be a trash man, because a buddy of mine who worked at the landfill had salvage rights as a fringe benny: He was regularly finding easily-repairable & perfectly good items like small appliances, furniture, books, coins &c. Those not inclined to repair/hire repairs done to things will throw them out. Live-in arrangements are subject to rapid and short-notice deterioration, and people hate moving. Then there's always plain, old fashioned, gross human stupidity, which nobody ever went broke banking on.

4 years ago you weren't grown up?

Wait a minute... I read that wrong... never mind.

Actually Bob, that's not far from the truth, now that you mention it: Another story for another time, perhaps...
